Tramadol
Tramadol is a prescription opiate antagonist used to treat patients suffering from pain caused by a number of different reasons. In case of being allergic to tramadol or other drugs of the kind you should not start taking tramadol as this can lead to serous allergic symptoms that need to be reported to the local emergency center. You may be started on a lower dose of tramadol that will later be increased to suit your personal needs. Do not increase the dosage yourself as this is supposed to be done gradually to avoid serious health consequences. The extended-release tablets are supposed to be taken whole – make sure you do not chew them or crush them in any way to prevent the active ingredient from being released to soon. Taking this medication improperly may result in very serious health consequences and even death. If you notice any signs that seem dangerous – stop taking tramadol and call your doctor right away.
Make sure you do not use this medication more often than prescribed by your doctor and do not continue taking it if you were told to stop. In some cases people taking tramadol may develop an addiction resulting in highly-unpleasant symptoms when trying to withdraw from the treatment and some side effects that could be avoided if the condition was monitored by the doctor. Make sure you carry on with the treatment as told by your doctor and do not stop taking this medication suddenly, as this may lead to serious withdrawal symptoms such as diarrhea, cough, runny nose, nausea, nervousness, hallucinations, tingling, sweating, numbness, panic, sneezing, pain, burning, and chills. In case of even a minor surgery make sure your health care provider knows you are taking tramadol as this can affect the choice of drugs.
